BIOGRAPHY

Lauren R. Jackson, M.P.A., Esq. is a legacy-driven attorney, visionary leader, and advocate dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs, small businesses, and everyday dreamers. With a deep commitment to service, she wears multiple hats—serving as the Assistant Dean of Career Services at Howard University School of Law, the Chief Consultant of The L. Renee Group, and the Founder & Chief Visionary Officer of Instilling My Ability to Naturally Embrace Excellence (I.M.A.N.E.E.), Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the elevation and empowerment of Black girls.

Lauren’s legal foundation was built at the historic Howard University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor. She also holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Master’s in Public Administration from Seton Hall University. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Divinity at Howard University School of Divinity.  Her career spans impactful roles with the Human Services Council of New York City, the New York State Department of Human and Civil Rights, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, and the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. She further honed her expertise through a judicial externship with the Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson at the District Court for the District of Columbia and a clerkship with the Honorable Magali M. Francois at the New Jersey Superior Court. Her private sector experience includes serving as an associate at McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP, before returning to Howard Law to shape the next generation of legal professionals. 

A highly sought-after expert in career and professional development, Lauren specializes in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, HBCU law school career pipelines, and holistic career development. She is a dedicated leader in the Washington Area Legal Recruitment Administrators Association (WALRAA), where she co-chairs the Diversity Committee. She also holds multiple leadership roles within the National Association for Law Placement (NALP), including Co-Chair of the National Law School Career Chiefs Group, Chair of the HBCU Pipeline Project, and Co-Chair of the Black/African American Affinity Group. Additionally, she serves on NALP’s National Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Steering Committee, providing strategic guidance on creating equitable career opportunities.

Beyond the legal field, Lauren’s passion for youth empowerment and community-building is at the heart of I.M.A.N.E.E., Inc., an organization she founded to cultivate the next generation of leaders, social justice advocates, and community change agents. She also uplifts and connects women through The Shero Brunch, a signature event fostering sisterhood, mentorship, and empowerment. Her impact has taken her across the country as a speaker, workshop facilitator, and thought leader, addressing topics such as leadership development, activating faith, self-awareness, the school-to-prison pipeline, and business creation.

 

Her influence extends into various prestigious speaking engagements, including Seeds of Fortune Leadership Academy, the Young Enterprising Sisters Conference, the World Class Women Organization, the Educating Children of Color Summit at Colorado College, The Black Girl Project Summit, and more. Lauren has been featured in Queen + Queen Magazine, XONecole.com, The Felicia Brown Podcast, For Realness Sake Podcast, MyFaithHeels.com, and Still Becoming Podcast (now Flourish With Delores). In 2016, she was recognized as a Changemaker and invited to the first-ever United State of Women Summit in Washington, D.C. Her organization, I.M.A.N.E.E., has also garnered national recognition, including features on ABC 7’s Here & Now with Sandra Bookman and BK News 12. In 2022, I.M.A.N.E.E. received the Black Girl Freedom Fund Grant and the EEYSP Gems Award, further cementing its impact.

Lauren is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Sigma Iota Legal Sorority, Inc., and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women - Metropolitan Washington D.C. Chapter. Through her work, she continues to bridge the gap between law, leadership, and legacy, empowering individuals to embrace their full potential and create lasting change.
